About The Event

June 22, 2013 marks the first ever “Canadian Foundation Walkathon” event and all proceeds will go to Cancer Research.

The Cancer Research Centre brings together scientists and researchers to perform basic, epidemiologic, and clinical research on cancer prevention, early diagnosis of cancer, the molecular and genetic characteristics of the cancer process, and basic research related to new treatments for cancer. With direct links to the cancer centres across the country, discoveries at Cancer Research Centre are quickly translated into clinical applications.

By supporting The Canadian Cancer Research Centre you are supporting the goal of finding a cure for cancer. Please see www.canadiancancerresearch.com for more information.

About The Foundation

Established in 1995, the Foundation is dedicated to establishing state-of-the-art treatment and research facilities throughout the country. The Foundation works collaboratively to fund, support and advocate for relevant and innovative research, meaningful education and awareness programs, early diagnosis and effective treatment, and a positive quality of life for people undergoing treatment. The Research Centre is dedicated to supporting excellence in health care by raising funds for cancer research, patient care and education. We can successfully fundraise only with the support of our friends and community.

Our fundraising has enabled us to allocate millions of dollars in grants for projects and services since our inception. Addressing the needs of Canadians from coast to coast, the Foundation has chapters in British Columbia/Yukon Territory, Prairies/NWT, Ontario and the Atlantic Region, as well as several other community-based branch offices. The national office is located in Toronto.
